rThe most powerful part of this story to me was the part about the teacher giving him room to cry, and it demonstrates the value of having someone you can turn to outside of your own family or other usual support groups. Family is important, and if we're lucky we can rely on it. But not everyone is so lucky that they can be completely open with thei families at all times, even if they love each other very much it can get so complicated for so many reasons, as this man's life story demonstrates. But specifically, the teacher who recognized what was up and gave him a space to open up without condemnation or judgement, I don't think it's at all possible to say how valuable that is; moments like that can save a life.
