Really sad to hear about her abusive upbringing, and about the way things worked out when she went to live with her mother. Given that the mother had been completely out of touch with her for the first 16 years of her life, I guess it’s not surprising that she was not ”equipped” to deal with parenting a troubled teenager, but it’s sad that there was no adult in her life who came through for her.
