You could really feel the weight of experience behind this person. There's a certain gravity elders have that just comes with how much living they've had to do, and how much hard work they've had to endure. One part that I really appreciated was when he described sending his children to school and telling them that they had "8 semesters to get through"but that "they can take a break between them" as long as they went back and finished. Looking back, one of the biggest regrets I have about my own approach to college was the rush I was in, I wish I had had the wisdom to have taken a pause earlier to get my goals clear before I dived into the deep end, so that part really resonated and I felt like this man was a good father. I also think he made a very well illustrated point about economic inequality and concentration when he was talking about the visibility of wealth invested in churches that is not similarly invested in minority & community businesses. I also thought it was funny how at the beginning of the interview that he, out of all the interviews in this series, was the only one who seemed to be worried about if his story was going to be "x-rated."
