From the beginning of this young man’s story it was quite obvious that his role models: family as well as others has been instrumental in influencing and shaping the man he is becoming. His mother’s temporary blindness and her motivation to keep pressing on, his Grandmother’s godly influences and even his father’s shortcomings and those in the AA group - all through the difficulties associated with their lives - touched and positively influenced this young man’s life.
As he moved forward in his story - his personal goals appear to be in alignment with his overall life’s purpose - as he’s learned (throughout his life) the importance of reaching beyond himself for the betterment of others. It appears that despite the bumps in the road he may have encountered he’s been able to maintain his vision and is remaining focused on how he can effectively make life better for others: those in his inner circle and those far beyond - which is precisely what we need in the times in which we are alive today.
